NBA star LeBron James’ son, LeBron James Jr., was rushed to the hospital for intensive care after suffering cardiac arrest during a practice Monday in Los Angeles, a spokesperson for LeBron James and his wife Savannah said in a statement. Young James, known as Bronnie, is currently in stable condition and is no longer in ICU, the statement said.
“LeBron and Savannah would like to publicly express their deep gratitude to USC’s medical and athletic staff for their excellent work and dedication to the safety of our athletes,” the statement said.
Bronnie James, 18, will be a freshman at the University of Southern California this fall. He is the eldest of the three children of Lakers star LeBron James. Bronnie James is a four-star rookie who chose USC over offers from Oregon State and Ohio State.
After this season, Bronnie James will be eligible for the NBA Draft. LeBron James, who became the league’s all-time leading scorer last season, has often said he wants to play on an NBA team with his son.
This is breaking news and will be updated.
